Clarisonic Skin Care System

Clarisonic Skin Care System

Growing up with combination skin, I had normal to dry skin on my cheeks but was a bit oily in the t-zone.  This oiliness caused me to have a few noticibly larger pores on my nose.  I tried everything under the sun to try and "shrink" these pores by using things like retin-A, toners, exfoliators, glycolic acid facials etc but never saw any real results, that is until I tried the Clarisonic face brush.

I had read several online reviews on this brush which piqued my interest and I own and love my Sonicare toothbrush (which happens to be the same company that makes the Clarisonic facial brush) so I decided to purchase one at Sephora.

I went with the pink one as I am a sucker for nice packaging but it also contributes some of the proceeds to Breast Cancer Research so it made me feel good and it was still $195 which is the same price as the regular white brush.

The cost may seem steep, but when you add up the cost of facials, toners, creams etc that I had tried in the past with no success, it seemed like a fair price.

The brush comes with a charging stand and 3 types of paraben free trail sized cleansers to use with the brush.  I am enjoying trying each one and am very happy with the results.

I noticed that the first time I used it my skin seemed a lot cleaner and when I toned my face with a cotton square after cleansing with the brush there was absolutely not make-up residue which I sometimes would get when I would just wash my face with my hands.

I especially liked the fact that after only using the brush 3 times, the pores on my nose were visibly smaller!  My friend who is a dermatologist told me that pores never actually disappear but you can shrink the size of each pore by removing the excess sebum and dirt that one accumulates during the course of the day which makes the pores seem to disappear!

The brush comes with a self timer to let you know how long to cleanse each part of your face (forehead, nose & chin, then cheeks) and is completly waterproof so you can use it in the shower.  Very convenient!

I definitely recommend this facial cleansing brush especially in the summer when oily skin tends to get oilier.  I wear a lot of high spf lotions on my face in the summer and love how this Clarisonic brush takes all of that sunblock off at the end of the day.

Use this brush and I am sure you will see a cleaner, more refined complexion within a few days like I did.  I don't know how I lived without this brush before and I am sure you'll be spending less time at the facialist which makes the brush well worth the initial cost.

A Healthy & Humane way to Lose Those Extra Pounds...

A Healthy & Humane way to Lose Those Extra Pounds...

Wondering how you are going to fit into that tiny bikini this summer? Trying to squeeze into your favorite designer jeans from 3 years ago?

This book was a very straightforward and informative read on eating healthier while also being humane to our furry animal friends. Although I am not a vegan as I do eat organic dairy products and some seafood, I really enjoyed this book which has also helped me to drop those last few pounds.

There are many healthier and humane alternatives to eating meat, chicken, pork, lamb etc. I personally love adding fresh tofu to my salads to get the protein that I need to feel full and satisfied. After reading "Skinny Bitch" I have sworn off meat of any kind except for some seafood. I don't think most people realize the torturous and horrific conditions that our animals friends go through before being sent to the slaughter house.

If you are an animal lover and interested in eating healthier and losing those unwanted pounds, I definitely recommend this book as well as its follow up book entitled "Skinny Bitch in the Kitch" which has delicious and innovative recipes that anyone can make.
